It's working great! I can hit the 25/85 repeater full quieting from my home
near Rocky Mountain High School (Shields & Swallow) in Fort Collins--- 5W to
a 3 element beam pointed that direction. Good job to you (and to OJ).

Subject: [NCARC] Joy Joy Joy!
Taking all the suggestions to mind, I examined cables. During some
switching back and forth of outside antennas, the connector for the high
antenna actually "twisted" on the coax. Deeming this to be something bad, I
removed the end, and replaced it with another better-quality end. Problem
solved! No more noise!
Somehow, that bad end was doing my desense. As K0OJ suspected from the
start, it was a case of bad cabling.
I have an extra run of hardline (thanks, Mike, N7MR) that I can put up in
place of the coax to make things even better. I assume that if I put new
ends on this one, the club could pick up the tab. If I do it right, I can
run the hardline right into the cans, for optimal performance. THEN whatch
this baby sing.
Anyway, let's hear some more signal reports. Thanks all, for help,
suggestions, and the prospects of equipment loans. (I still have your name
on file, Bob Scheib: WA0EYJ = Spec Analyzer.)
Talk it up!
-Ed
