Running hardline directly to the duplexer would reduce the loss a bit, but 
it's a pretty hard thing to do physically. I think most installations have a 
coax pigtail the last couple of feet from the hardline to the duplexer. The 
pigtail shouldn't affect desense because the RX and TX signals are already duplexed 
at that point. On the other hand, it's crucial that the coax from the RX to 
the duplexer and from the TX to the duplexer be double shielded.
