Michael, (and others that may be interested)

I have played with this somewhat. Not with a pringles
can but with old DirecTV DSS 18 offset fed dishes
and 1 1meter offset dish. I got it working to a distance
of about 15 miles with no amps or preamps.

All the dishes used helical feeds I scratch built from PVC pipe,
romex electrical wire innards and old hard drive platters.
(Several experimental antennas I built for Oscar 40 satellite
  reception at 2401 mhz)

If you'd like more info, I can share some experiances and
do's and don'ts that I have learned from it.

Write me off the list and I will send more info. If others
are interested we can move back to the list, but I prefer
not to clog up mailboxes with lots of stuff people don't care
about 8-) (must come from being a sys admin....)
