Bill,
In fact the map question is solved in a very elegent way. I went ahead
and purchased
UI-View for $15.50. In it, it has the map conversion process done very
easily.
Simply get a graphic file of the map you want to use. Know the the
lat/long of the
upper left corner and lower right corner and voila, you've got a map.
I'll be posting
them to my web site very soon.
Next question:
My kpc-3+ has v7 firmware. I'm having trouble getting the right
settings for
gps/tnc operations. This is where my Garmin is connected directly to
the kpc-3+
for mobile location broadcasting. The web pages I've found more often
refer to
v8.2 or v8.3 firmware. They have extra commands that don't apply to me,
as well
their examples differ enough that I don't know where start.
Would you happen to know the correct setup commands for the kpc-3+ to make
it work properly with my gps unit?
Thanks

p.s. Maryland eh? Bet that was nerve racking.
