[na0tc] October club meeting: Club station antenna work party (Oct 3rd @ 10am)

Hi everyone,

As many of you know, we have been working hard to finally get an HF Yagi
antenna up on the tower at the club's remote station site in Strasburg. We
were able to acquire a used but amazingly good condition Hy-Gain THX6DXX
"Super Thunderbird" antenna a few weeks back, and we're now on the final
stretch.

To finish the project, we need three work parties. The first is scheduled
for this coming Monday, September 21, with the objective of disassembling
and cleaning the antenna in preparation for assembly, and we should be in
good shape for that one.

*The second work party is scheduled for Saturday October 3rd at 10am (our
normal club meeting time). *The goal for this session is to assemble and
test the antenna. We need a lot of people for this step as it's quite a
large antenna and we want to make sure we do it right. We have to
completely disassemble the antenna to clean everything, and we're also
replacing a number of parts with brand new ones, as the antenna came with a
rebuild kit.

Once the antenna is assembled, we can test/tune it and finalize the rotator
testing. The final step will be to mount, raise and test the antenna, after
which, with any luck, it will be ready for general use! I'm really hoping
we can complete this before the snow flies and I'll keep everyone posted
when we're ready to schedule the final work party.
