[na0tc] Club remote station tower project: status and parts needed

Hi everyone,

I'm pleased to report that repairs to the club remote station Yagi have
been completed and we've sourced a rotator thanks to Mark Edwards' hard
work and dedication. The antenna will be used on a temporary basis for
Field Day and after that we are planning on a permanent installation on the
Star Haven tower.

We are looking for a few parts to finish the project; if anyone has any of
these and are willing to donate them to the club, they qualify as a tax
deductible donation:

- 125 feet of 5-wire rotor cable, burial quality
- Two triangular steel rotor plates, 1/8" thick, 12" x 12" x 12",  centers
are 9.375", outside 11", diameter 1.5". We can also make our own if someone
has two 12" x 12", 1/8" thick scrap steel plates.
- Rotor bearing (mast diameter is 2") or we can construct one out of
plumbing parts: 2" flange and 8" of 2" diameter pipe, or a foot of 2" I.D.
pipe would also work.

We'll keep everyone informed as the project progresses; we will need a few
volunteers for a work party at Star Haven, tentatively scheduled for July
18th, to finish putting all of this together. When we're done, we'll have
an awesome multi-band Yagi that will be remotely controllable, connected to
the remote station's Flex 6400. This is a massive upgrade that has
literally been years in the making!
