Hi everyone! I have a couple of news items for you:
*** 3/7/26 club meeting ***
The March club meeting will be held on March 7th starting at the usual time
(10am with coffee and donuts starting at 9:30). At one point it looked like
we were going to need to change the time and/or date but the church let us
know today that we're good to go.
This is going to be a great meeting, with Flex Radio guru Len Koppl's
providing a Flex Radio tutorial and NA0TC remote station lab. If you've
always wanted to use the club station and have had issues in the past,
bring your computer and we'll get you set up!
As always, if a few of you folks could show up a bit early (like 9am), we
can always use extra hands to help set up the room. And as an added bonus,
you get first dibs on donut choice... :-)
*** New NA0TC website ***
After 2+ years of wanting to do this, I'm delighted that a totally new,
built from the ground up NA0TC website is now up on https://na0tc.org!
Our shiny new website runs on a US-based cloud virtual private server
(VPS). The server is coded in JavaScript and runs on a 100% open source
tech stack with a Ubuntu Linux base. The VPS is provisioned with plenty of
disk space and a 1 Gbps network "pipe", is protected by Cloudflare
security, and delivers sub-second page load speeds. You'll find all of the
content from the old site (and more) with a sleek, modern user interface
and many new features including a mobile-friendly format.
Other notable features:
- A site-wide search function (look for the magnifying glass on the toolbar)
- Easy to maintain: anyone with a web browser and the appropriate login can
edit content on the website using a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get)
interface - no more 2006-era wiki text formatting!
- A new member registration form that will allow us to automatically send
updates to HamClubOnline
- A news flash capability that allows us to put up a notification box on
the home page with hot news
- The ability to add new website pages and features really quickly (like in
minutes) without coding.
- Past presentation and technical content from the old site have been moved
to Google Drive and mapped to the new site, making it accessible from
anywhere and easy to maintain. I am still working through all of the old
media, so there may be a few files missing here and there.
Please give it a try and let me know if you have any feedback or ideas for
additional capabilities to be added to the site. I have backed up the old
website to Google Drive in case there's anything I missed.

Mark K0EHR
