Is this different than the VPN client I am currently using?

Yes.
You may need the current Nightly.
You will need to port-forward 55xx.
You may configure this as another VPN (tunnel client).
If it works, you may disable the original tunnel client.

As my hAP-ac lite is overloaded, I am eager to move
these standard tunnels over to Wireguard tunnels on
my ac3 and when stable, I will disable the old tunnels.
