Hi,
Ok, having studied this for a while now, here are my thoughts as to why the MVHS side of the link is not hearing well.
1. The MVHS node is aimed well at my house so I hear it pretty well; however, my node W8LRJ-BBush-MVHS is pointed at the ground or off a bit horizontally so its signal isn't centered in the fresnel zone so MVHS doesn't hear it as well.
2. The MVHS node is hearing too much of the DARA node that is aimed at MVHS and on a "nearby" channel (141) while W8LRJ is on 136 (both at 20 MHz). This raises the noise floor at MVHS for nodes facing north (like mine)?
Do either of these make sense? I can try reaiming my home node both vertically and horizontally and see if I can hit the sweet spot, but I am not hopeful.
Chuck, you can run the waterfall on W8LRJ-MVHS-Beavercreek using the usual "F-word" password.
Thanks!
John
