Hi, John: Thanks.
Hi, Adam:
The closest high profile switch site to you is Bill Curtice WA8APB at 1.8 miles.
The profile looks okay:
Your heading to Bill is 280 degrees.
Bill's heading to you is 100 degrees.
Bill has a dish aimed at the North Xenia high profile switch site at 110 degrees.
Bill is on channel 169 at 20 MHz bandwidth.
See if he shows up on a Wi-Fi scan.
Our network uses channels/frequencies assigned to Amateur Radio, Part 97, FCC.
You will need a license to join our network.
There are several radio clubs that sponsor license classes and there
is at least one exam administered each month on a weekend or evening.
The license may still be free.
The classes are free.
I think the exams given locally are still free.

Hi Chuck,
This came in through the MMVA website. He looks pretty eager! Not sure if he is a ham though?

Comment or Message Greetings, I am new to the Dayton area and very interested in the AREDN project.
I am a former Navy Electronics Technician and proficient in networking, pbx, and coding. I currently have a great network setup (Ubiquiti) and I am familiar/comfortable with their equipment.
My home is located at 39.727450, -83.994142 and my antenna would be mounted at ~35'. Given I'm at lower elevation, I want to ensure I have LOS to get on the network.
