Chuck

I think your words are good, as is.

If you change anything,  I'm thinking you "could" loosen up on the "non-commercial" part.  In a real emergency, we could support "commercial entities", particularly utilities (AES, Center Point), hospitals, medical practices, boarding kennels, food stores, etc. I believe there are many commercial activities that we count on to provide critical support in an emergency, that would be properly deserving of MVMA support, vs. many non-profit organizations which, despite their chartered purpose, exist primarily to provide high salaries for their directors and employees.

I plan on covering all the obvious bases:
  • Entirely voluntary, community service-oriented emergency communications support, installed and maintained by FCC licensed Amateur Radio operators.
  • Provide Web Services, File Sharing, Video Conferencing, VOIP telephony; pretty much anything the internet can do.
  • Small equipment footprint with very low power requirements.
  • The club already maintains a number of sites in the Dayton area, including hospitals.
  • The 3131 Winsupply building is ideally located to support the expansion of our network to the West side of the Dayton Metro area.
If there are any other points you think I should cover, please let me know.

Steve

MVMA:

Steve left a VM yesterday and mentioned that communications with WinSupply are 'moving up the chain-of-command'.
:-)

About the only item I want to include in 'our mission' is
we are not governed by any government or other similar entity.
Ex. FEMA, Amateur Radio Emergency Service, American Red Cross,...
IOW, we can act at anytime. We can 'self deploy' or 'self activate'.
We only wait to be 'invited' by a community service entity. ;-)
( I try to avoid the use of the words 'emergency' and 'disaster'.)
;-)
How does 'Any non-commercial community-support group's communication outage' sound?

I/we intend to support community service entities,
especially if there is a 'need for' or 'loss of' communication.
e.g. Public Service event, telephone or internet service outage.

Please feel free to edit that statement.
