I have little to no influence on this topic. I did want to mention that content is very different than look and feel. So I quite disagree with the statement
“New hosting content should be created anew so that items 3. and 4. are alleviated.”
I have never built a new version of a website without using the content that was already on the website. IMHO The content belongs with the website no matter what software is delivering it. Web development has come a long way since the
site was created. That said, I didn’t argue for or against this whole kerfuffle. I’m clearly in the dark, and this is a decision out of my scope of authority, so to say.

Subject: [MVMA] MVMA: New name, new domain, new hosting, new pages
During the teamtalk net last Wednesday evening is was agreed that
MVMA would get
Between Wednesday evening and now it has been requested that the current
web site content be transferred to a new hosting service.
Because of items 3. and 4. above, I feel that the entire current content should not be transferred to new hosting.
New hosting content should be created anew so that items 3. and 4. are alleviated.
