I have little to no influence on this topic.  I did want to mention that content is very different than look and feel. So I quite disagree with the statement

New hosting content should be created anew so that items 3. and 4. are alleviated.”

I have never built a new version of a website without using the content that was already on the website.  IMHO The content belongs with the website no matter what software is delivering it.  Web development has come a long way since the site was created.  That said, I didn’t argue for or against this whole kerfuffle. I’m clearly in the dark, and this is a decision out of my scope of authority, so to say.

Subject: [MVMA] MVMA: New name, new domain, new hosting, new pages

During the teamtalk net last Wednesday evening is was agreed that
MVMA would get

  1. a new organization name to better reflect our purpose, miamivalleymicrowave[a*]
  2. new domain name, such as miamivalleymicrowave.org, to better reflect our mission,
  3. new web hosting, because the current pages are not edit-able with WordPress®,
  4. new web pages, because

Between Wednesday evening and now it has been requested that the current
web site content be transferred to a new hosting service.

Because of items 3. and 4. above, I feel that the entire current content should not be transferred to new hosting.
New hosting content should be created anew so that items 3. and 4. are alleviated.
