Tom, your info is a little off, but some what correct.

There are services that allow you to link your random dhcp addresses IP addresses to a web addresses. With a static address it's not needed as long as you have someone to provide DNS services for your web address. Either way works.

Apache Web services, can handle multiple web addresses on one IP address. When the incoming request comes in it can direct it to its own data structure keeping them isolated. My business website is on such a server.

With as little traffic as the web address would get, a Raspberry Pi would handle the load and there would be minimal impact to your Internet performance.

Chuck, et all...

Does it need to be a hired server. I believe there are ways to use an RPi to be a server that cold operate from someone's
home internet feed. I don't know how to set it up, but I have MetroNet 500 MB fixed IP service if someone can rig up the RPi.
I'm planning to install a reverse proxy which is supposed to allow multiple servers behind it on a single IP address. Or I am
badly misinformed, which wouldn't be a first.

Does MVMA wish to pay for the renewal of miamivalleymesh.com or
miamivalleymesh.org or a web server?

Ideally, miamivalleymesh.org <http://miamivalleymesh.org/> should be the primary website with a ssl certificate and also have
miamivalleymesh.com <http://miamivalleymesh.com/> redirected to the https://miamivalleymesh.org

What would that cost us?

All:

I am suggesting that MVMA members decide what to do and what to pay and
who to maintain.

I have been paying $75/annually for what we have had and
$15/annual to retain miamivalleymesh.org.
Currently the domain, miamivalleymesh.com, expires around April 04, 2022.
However the MVMA members choose, may affect whether I stop paying for
the web service and miamivalleymesh.org domain reservation.
