At last known status, this does not apply to Tim N8NQH.

Here is how to get 'registered at NC8Q BBS'.

Using 1200 baud AX.25 (PACKET); connect to KETBBS:NC8Q-13 on 145.01 MHz.

-or-

(1) Contact me for credentials to my node KETT:NC8Q-7.

On your web browser on a computer with local AREDN network access, view
http://nc8q-bpq.local.mesh:8008/Node/NodeIndex.html
Click 'Terminal' on the horizontal navigation bar.
Use credentials from (2)above to authenticate.
Enter 'BBS' at the prompt.
(2) Enter your name "name" when prompted with your name.
Optionally, enter your location, zip code, and home BBS.
  example:
  qth Kettering, OH
  zip 45429
  home NC8Q.#DAY.OH.USA.NOAM

-or-

Use CLI program 'telnet'. (Been included in all operating systems since 1969, yes ibmdos msdos, cp/m, OS/2, Windows 2, Windows 3.11, ...)

From a computer connected to the local AREDN network (again, does not apply to Tim.) :

telnet nc8q-bpq 8010
Authenticate with the credentials from (1)above.
Enter "BBS"
Continue from (2).

-or-

Request credentials as in (1)above.
On your web browser on a computer with internet access, view
http://nc8q-bpq.local.mesh:48008/Node/NodeIndex.html
Click 'Terminal' on the horizontal navigation bar.
Use credentials from (1)above to authenticate.
Enter 'BBS' at the prompt.
Continue from (2)above
(Even Tim can do this!)
