QNI:
Chuck NC8Q
Bill WA8APB
Tim N8NQH
Tyler KI7ODK
QTC:
Tim: How much SNR should the link be from MVHS to new BARC clubhouse?
Chuck: 20 dB minimum.
Tyler: To renew membership at DARA and obtain 'fob' access to clubhouse
in order to upgrade and maintain the AREDN services therein.
QNF: 22:00 local
I did some estimates comparing the similar path from MVHS at 120'
elevation clear of any trees for miles:
* to N8NQH: 2.6 miles, Tim is at ~70 feet elevation(?) and _surrounded
by trees_.
* to BbHS: 2.5 miles, assuming 25' elevation, _clear of trees for 0.3
miles_ toward MVHS.
NC8Q-MVHS-Bellbrook: using 25 dBm TX, 24.5 dBi antenna and achieving
~25dB SNR.
N8NQH-to-MVHS: using 28 dBm TX, 16 dBi antenna and achieving ~25dB SNR.
Else, these 2 paths are somewhat similar.
-----
BbHS:
The tower appears to be 72' tall.
Near the top of the tower:
* There is a unpopulated off-set vertical mast.
* There is a broken 2.4 SISO dish antenna.
* There seems to be an in-service UHF omni-vertical.
* There seems to be a SHF dish aimed about 330 degrees azimuth.
The UHF radio coax seems to enter the building adjacent to the tower.
So do the AT&T telephone cables.
Likely only DSL internet will be available. :-(
73, Chuck
