OpenWRT code will run on an x86 computer.
The AREDN development team has released code to run on an x86 computer.
There is code for legacy bios (non-EFI) and EFI x86 computers.
IIRC, this release will
DtD into a local AREDN network
Tunnel (legacy) with other x86, hap-ac2, and hap-ac3 AREDN nodes on port
5526.
Tunnel (Wireguard) with other recent Nightlies, x86, hap-ac2, and
hap-ac3 AREDN nodes starting on port 6526.
Will run ~100x faster than the ARM7 in a WiFi router.
This code becomes the OS on an x86 computer replacing Windows or Linux or...
IOW, the x86 is now running AREDN under OpenWRT OS.
Note: 1st boot (just like before): The x86's ethernet will be on 192.168.1.1
You need to change the hostname and password and reboot.
After rebooting the x86 will have a 10/8 IP address and an active DHCP
server.
