MVMA: State of the Alliance
All:
Looking back over the last 4 years, I have seen a number of MVMA
hosted nodes come and go.
Mostly go. KAS and the Vandalia water tank are long gone. MVMA's only
new node is
KE8MVM-DARA-TO-XWARN. The only existing user of the MVMA's original (2.4
GHz) mission is AE8I.
It seems to me that the MVMA has completed its mission and that there
are no new
network or equipment additions planned.
It seems to me that the only new network or equipment additions are by
individuals
without the support of the MVMA.
MVMA has achieved in the last 7 years:
W8BI-OMNI : Has 1 user
KE8MVM-DARA-TO-XWARN : Aimed by guess. Never aimed by peaking RF SNR.
KE8MVM-MVHS-Omni : Never had a user
KE8MVM-W-Xenia-NSM5 : An island 5 GHz terminal node without a companion
user access node.
KE8MVM-XWARN-TO-DARA : Aimed by guess. Never aimed by peaking RF SNR.
No sponsored services/servers.
There are 50+ other nodes on the local network and some 30+
servers/services
sponsored by individuals...without active support from the MVMA.
Does the MVMA wish to restructure is mission or simply maintain its
existing 4 nodes?
Chuck
