I have a 'packet BBS' service on the local MVMA/AREDN network.
This BBS has a 'Network Node' function similar to 'AREDN',
i.e. Automatic Adaptive network linking
It also has a RMS (Winlink compatible _R_adio _M_essage _S_ervice).
NC8Q-BPQ can send (and receive) Winlink Email via the Winlink CMS
(Common Message Servers).
I have recently added the ' Winlink forms' under 'General' and the 'ICS
forms' under 'ICS Forms'.
This provides a browser accessible 'fill-in-the-blanks' forms.
In theory, anyone with a Winlink account (*) can receive Winlink Email
via this server.
This has not yet been attempted.
It works for me. :-|
Requirements:
'User' account credentials at NC8Q-BBS (*) and any of:
* A computer connected to the internet and any web browser.
* A computer and an AREDN node connected to the local MVMA/AREDN
network via RF or tunnel.
* Winlink Express or RMS Express or compatible and connected to the
local MVMA network.
To send a 'Winlink Email':
1. Start here:
* From the MVMA network:
http://localnode.local.mesh:8080/cgi-bin/mesh
click 'nc8q-bpq' in the 'Services' column.
(Takes you to:
http://nc8q-bpq.local.mesh:8008/Node/NodeIndex.html)
* From the internet:
View http://nc8q.ddns.net:48008/Node/NodeIndex.html with your
browser.
2. Click 'WebMail' and enter your credentials.
3. Click 'Send Mail'
4. If you wish to use an ICS or General form, click 'Use Template' and
select from drop down menus.
(Some of the forms on this server have been modified with drop down
selections modified for use with AREDN.)
5. If you wish to use previously saved text from a form, click 'Browse'
and then select your local file.
6. You should use default type 'P' (personal) and, normally, leave the
BID blank.
7. Address the message 'To' <callsign>@winlink.org
8. If not using a form, enter your message into the large white
background box.
9. Click 'Send'.
3s, Chuck
