It seems that of discovered 20 MHz bandwidth devices (WiFi scans),
~90% use channels between 149 and 165.
Nightly Build #1728 adds another 10 MHz to channel selections on 5 GHz.
With the possible loss of 3 GHz, former 3 GHz links will need to move to
5 GHz.
This creates additional crowding on 5 GHz. Another channel selection is
helpful.
Channels above 175 are beyond the advertised bandwidth of the current's
specifications.
It may be wise to avoid the 'U-NII Upper / U-NII-3' segment,
5.725-5.850 GHz, 1 Watt/200W-EIRP.
(Channels 145<>170)
Our in-use devices seem to have a TX power drop-off above 'USA-5835
MHz, INT-5875 MHz'.
Likely, the radios are identical and only the manufacturer's firmware
restricts frequency selections.
Likely, the suspected power roll-off is identical among -USA and -INT
versions.
I have loaded Nightly Build 1728 on my 5 GHz PtP links and, so far,
they perform well on
channel 131/132.
