We are doing a different scenario this year than what the State of Ohio SET plan is, however we do have similar obtainable goals.  This years simulated scenario will be a 911 phone system outage.  MoCo ARES will be asked to provide amateur radio operators at key public safety locations (police & fire) throughout the county.
Our goal is to see if we can provide reliable communications back to the Regional Dispatch Center using just VHF and UHF simplex frequencies, i.e 146.415 & 446.000 using portable stations or mobile radios.
Activation for the SET will be sent out via the Montgomery County Priority Traffic List Server.  An Information/Resource Net will be established on the 146.640 (-) pl 123.0 K8MCA repeater.  When checking into the net, net control will ask the following SET questions:
1. Where you licensed before or after 2015.
2. Are you on emergency power for the SET?
3. Are you able to deploy to a public safety location?
If deployable, you will be directed to a public safety location. Upon arrival at the key public safety location, advise Net Control, QSY and establish contact with Regional Dispatch (K8RDC) on the VHF Simplex Frequency (146.415) & UHF Simplex Frequency (446.000). Each station give a signal report.  Upon completion of contact with RDC, check back into the Information/Resource Net for further instructions and/or assignment.

If you are interested in deploying to a public safety location during the SET, please drop me an email and indicate where you would like to be deployed to so we can prepare ahead of time.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
