after calls/emails from John W... he finally had success getting into the grid. And I hope the MVMA has another meshie in its midst. The MVMA owned nodes are group owned, and any changes need to be discussed and approved before hand. This can be done at a meeting, or the weekly voice net. I knew there were all kinds of ideas floating around, but never any mention that any were actually implemented. I know if I had seen/read/heard about a proposed experiment... I would of said "Great, we need to look into that. But can you wait a week or two?? The loaner kit is out at the moment." I challenge any of you to contact DARA, or BARC, or any club that owns a repeater and ask then for the password to get into their repeater controller "to make changes"; maybe to change the CTCSS tone, or change to DCS; or go with a long hang timer... or shorten the TOT to 20 seconds; or to disable some of the remote receive sites. Expect to hear laughter and then a -click- :-) The MVMA nodes were (all but two) changed back to their everyday operation look & feel, and the passwords changed to prevent any changes until the loaner kit came back. It took me about 2 days to change all the passwords (well... all but two of them) and then gave Bill the new password - before the loaner kit ever came back; because John had told me he finally had success and would drop off the kit the next time he was in the area. I am no longer an active meshie, but John - I hope you get into this, the technology is killer ! Bill Curtice is no ones enemy.. Tim
