I used the airlink.ubnt.com tool to review John W8LRJ's coverage.
I set his antenna height at 25 feet and wow! This would cover a
very large area including many high and medium profile 2397 MHz nodes.
A mesh node at John's location at 25 feet agl would likely be able to hear
azimuth - miles - station:

 1. 006 -  3.6 - N8DCP
 2. 013 -  3.5 - AB8XA
 3. 014 -  3.4 - N8JJ
 4. 043 -  3.7 - WA8APB
 5. 083 -  7.5 - W8XRN
 6. 096 -  5.5 - XENIA-W
 7. 110 -  7.9 - XENIA-S
 8. 167 -  2.1 - N8NQH
 9. 205 -  0.9 - KAS
10. 218 -  3.4 - MVHS
11. 312 -  5.4 - Pursell
12. 353 - 10.9 - W8BI

IMHO, John needs a directional node/antenna to effectively link.

Check out the 'airlink' images at:

Note: If the images load slow, try the images with a '.jpg' extension
instead of '.png'.
