What about the distance would it be better to connect from the Internet and put up a AP?

I would really like to get something going here in Clark County, If anyone is interested in working with me to see what we need to do to make that happen I would appreciate it.

Hi, this deserves a relevant subject line. ;-)

Many, here, are willing to assist you in this endeavor.

Primer:

https://www.arednmesh.org/content/getting-started
https://www.arednmesh.org/content/help-getting-started-and-choosing-ubiquiti-equipment

If there are any Clark County ham radio clubs with newsletters/websites/mail-lists,
try to get your interest posted.

I think I can assist best with theory, practice, and ciphering.
I have only 10 months experience with microwaves and some AREDNMESH devices.
I had about 12 years of experience with VHF/UHF radio networking 1988-2000.
Many folks here have 5+ years of actual 'mesh' operations, experience, and history.

Here are some profiles from your location to 3 of our high-profile sites assuming your end at 50' agl:
[kas]
WG8KGB -> KAS. Your clearest link is with our poorest performing high-profile node.
It transmits well, though.

[XWARN]
WG8KGB -> W8XRN-XWARN. This is you closest neighbor, but there is too much dirt on the path.

[W8BI]

WG8KGB -> W8BI-DARA. Looks like you have a hill about a half mile SSW.
