I would really like to get something going here in Clark County, If anyone is interested in working with me to see what we need to do to make that happen I would appreciate it.

some of our IT guru meshies are deep into the numbers; and I am very thankful for that because I have never understood it all that well; and can't help in that respect

But (here it comes) we need to also work towards attracting new meshies... as well as fine-tune our existing installation.

We've all witnessed first-time meshie-wannabees try the loaner kit... and the ones that get into the main grid & seeing what all Mesh can be... purchase equipment on their own and join the ranks. The key to this success has been having high profile nodes running omni's that can attract the most people; largest target audience. Once we get a big enough gaggle of local meshies ... then we can slow down (or stop completely) on installing omnis at these mega locations (KAS, W 2nd St. top of DARA tower).

I now understand that high profile locations are best suited as linking sites, and not for neighborhood flooding.
But we're not there yet.

The Xenia South 2.4 omni doesn't serve one ham......................... yet. But any ham in that area who decides to take an interest in Mesh - will get access via that WS node and hopefully buy equipment of their own. It really can't be the other way around; to where you tell a ham that can't access our main grid "go ahead and buy equipment... we promise to get something up in your area soon".

While we advance in the fine tuning of our grid ... lets not forget what it takes to get new hams to sign up as well; and sometimes it will be the 360 degree bug zapper approach :-)

I don't think we're anywhere close to the point to where the high profile nodes will be stripped of Omni's; we have such a little group at the moment... and need to add many more warm bodies !
