MVMA TeamTalk Instructions

Teamtalk 5 is a text, audio/ video teleconferencing system as well as file
sharing system.

It is hosted on a Raspberry Pi in my shack.

Getting Started

1.       Go to Bearware website at  http://bearware.dk/?page_id=353 and
download the client software for your system.

You can also download from the Apple store or the Android Play store.

The Microsoft store has an older version and is not recommended.  The
current Windows version is 5.3.1.

2.       Install the client on your system.

3.       Start the application.

4.       Hit the "connect button"  (Farthest left button)

5.       Enter "n8jj-router" for mesh access and leave the ports at the
default value (10333).

a.       If you don't have a good mesh connection to N8JJ, you can connect
via the internet to: 108.248.23.158 instead of n8jj-router.

b.      Use the "guest"  account to try it out, no password required

6.       You can test your audio and video devices under "Client" -
"Preferences" menu and then go to the "Sound System" or "Video Capture" tabs

7.       Send an email to n8jj at ameritech.net requesting a username/password.

Your username will be your callsign. You can change what is displayed to a
nickname.

Provide a password.  Do not use the same password that you use on other
systems as they are not encrypted here.

8.       After I set you up, connect using your username and password and
you are good to go.

9.       If you don't currently have a camera, you can pick up a USB camera
at Best Buy for $21.99 and place it on top of your monitor or on a shelf.
This one also has a mic.

10.   1. It is recommended that you use "Push to Talk" mode.  You can select
what you use as the "Push".  I use an extra button on the mouse.

11.   There is a chat room for meetings and one for ragchew setup as well an
open session.

12.   The video function does not yet work on an Android or an Iphone but
feel free to try it out.
