...A SNOW SQUALL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 AM EST FOR
NORTHWESTERN WARREN...MONROE AND NORTHEASTERN NORTHAMPTON COUNTIES...

At 817 AM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from near Skytop to Stoddartsville, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Extremely poor visibility in heavy snow.

SOURCE...Radar and webcams.

IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 4.
 Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 289 and 314.
 Interstate 380 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 12.

Locations impacted include...
Mount Pocono, East Stroudsburg, Tobyhanna, Stormville, Henryville,
Werry Lake, Pocono Pines, Pocono Raceway, Delaware Water Gap, Skytop,
Tannersville, Mountainhome, Alpine Mountain, Long Pond, Arrowhead
Lake, Stoddartsville, Reeders, Analomink, Canadensis and Scotrun.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Consider avoiding or delaying travel until the snow squall passes
your location. If you must travel, use extra caution and allow extra
time. Rapid changes in visibility and slick road conditions may lead
to accidents.

There is no safe place on a highway when a snow squall hits.
Visibility and traction are immediately lost in whiteout conditions,
making it difficult or impossible to slow down and avoid stopped
vehicles. Delay travel or safely exit the highway before the snow
squall arrives.
