...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 PM EDT FOR
MORRIS AND NORTH CENTRAL SOMERSET COUNTIES...
At 835 PM EDT, transportation officials reported flash flooding in a
few locations across Morris County. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. The heaviest rain has left the warned area. However,
additional rain is possible with showers late this evening, and it
will take time for the water to recede.
Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Morristown, Dover, Madison, Hopatcong, Florham Park, East Hanover,
Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, Hackettstown, Chatham, Boonton, Butler,
Wharton, Rockaway, Morris Plains, Mount Arlington, Mendham, Mountain
Lakes, Stanhope and Riverdale.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
