...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM EDT
FOR WEST CENTRAL BERKS COUNTY...

At 445 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Strausstown, or
7 miles north of Myerstown, moving southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Laureldale, Womelsdorf, Wernersville, Newmanstown, Leesport,
Bernville, Strausstown, Fairview Hgts, Spring Ridge and Centerport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A tornado watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for eastern
Pennsylvania.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
