...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 PM EDT
FOR NORTH CENTRAL OCEAN...EAST CENTRAL MERCER...MONMOUTH AND SOUTHERN
MIDDLESEX COUNTIES...

At 424 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Yorketown, or
13 miles south of New Brunswick, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Long Branch, Sandy Hook, Middletown, Old Bridge, East Brunswick,
Sayreville, Marlboro, Manalapan, Tinton Falls, Holmdel, Red Bank,
Matawan, Jamesburg, Hightstown, Highlands, Cranbury, Roosevelt,
Brownville, East Freehold and Six Flags Theme Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
