The water may be deeper than you think.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Brandywine Creek at Chadds Ford.
* At 10:30 AM Thursday the stage was 8.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage and continue to rise to
  near 9.1 feet this afternoon. The river will fall below
  flood stage by late this afternoon.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...The intersections of Creek Road and
  Route 926 near Pocopson floods upstream of Chadds Ford.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of
  9.0 feet on May 17 2018.
