...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT FOR
NORTHERN SUSSEX COUNTY...

At 556 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated two to three inches of rain
from earlier thunderstorms. Flash flooding continues to be a threat
across the warned area.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Port Jervis, Montague, Hamburg, Sussex, Branchville, Flatbrookville,
High Point, Five Points, Pellettown, Crandon Lakes, Vernon Valley and
Hainesville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
