...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT FOR
MORRIS...NORTHERN HUNTERDON...SOUTHERN SUSSEX...WARREN...NORTHWESTERN
MONTGOMERY...SOUTHEASTERN LEHIGH...NORTHWESTERN BUCKS AND EASTERN
NORTHAMPTON COUNTIES...

At 600 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated up to two inches of rain from
earlier thunderstorms with more heavy rainfall occuring. Flash
flooding continues to be a threat across the warned area.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Easton, Newton, Dover, Hopatcong, Lincoln Park, Kinnelon,
Hackettstown, Quakertown, Boonton, Butler, Wharton, Washington,
Rockaway, Blairstown, Morris Plains, Bangor, Mount Arlington,
Franklin, Mendham and Mountain Lakes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
