...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT FOR CENTRAL
WARREN...CARBON...MONROE AND NORTHERN NORTHAMPTON COUNTIES...

At 443 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms moving across the area. Rain rates of over one inch
per hour will continue for some areas. This will cause flooding in
the advisory area, especially in urban and poor drainage areas,
especially where heavy rain has already fallen.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Lehighton, Mount Pocono, East Stroudsburg, Tobyhanna, Blairstown,
Palmerton, Bangor, Jim Thorpe, Pen Argyl, Nesquehoning, Wind Gap,
Belvidere, Weatherly, Oxford, Hope, Belfast, East Bangor, Stormville,
Werry Lake and Pocono Pines.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
