...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 400 PM EDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN MORRIS COUNTY...

At 340 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Lake Telemark,
or 9 miles southwest of Pompton Lakes, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...The public reported trees down on Green Pond Road in the
         Lake Telemark area as this storm passed.

IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, Boonton, Butler, Riverdale, Lake Telemark,
Green Pond, Pequannock Township and White Meadow Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
