...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT
FOR SOUTHERN MORRIS...NORTHERN HUNTERDON...SOUTH CENTRAL WARREN...
NORTHERN SOMERSET AND NORTHEASTERN MIDDLESEX COUNTIES...

At 658 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Basking Ridge to near White House Station to High
Bridge, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Perth Amboy, Morristown, Somerville, Edison, Bridgewater, Carteret,
Madison, Middlesex, Bound Brook, Manville, Chatham, Mendham, High
Bridge, Clinton, Peapack And Gladstone, Glen Gardner, Chester,
Hampton, Lebanon and Califon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or
lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover.
SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
