...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM EST THURSDAY THROUGH
THURSDAY AFTERNOON...
The Flood Watch continues for
* The Lehigh Valley, southeastern Pennsylvania, northern, central
and southwestern New Jersey, northern Delaware and extreme
northeastern Maryland.
* From 4:00 AM Thursday through Thursday afternoon.
* Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected across the watch
area.
* Light rain is expected to spread across the area overnight.
Moderate to heavy rain is then expected at times early Thursday
morning into Thursday afternoon. In the areas of heaviest
rainfall, urban and poor-drainage flooding is expected to occur.
Sensitive streams and creeks will also be susceptible to
flooding, especially in areas with enhanced rainfall rates. An
isolated instance of flash flooding cannot be ruled out. River
flooding is also possible, especially on the Passaic, Rockaway,
North Branch Rancocas, and Millstone Rivers, if the axis of
heaviest rainfall intersects these basins.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
