The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
Carbon County in northeastern Pennsylvania...
Monroe County in northeastern Pennsylvania...
* Until 530 AM EDT.
* At 122 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a line of heavy rain along
a strong cold front advancing east from central Pennsylvania. Up
to one inch of rain has already fallen over northern portions of
Carbon and Monroe counties during the past six hours, and with an
additional inch of rain about to move into the area, minor
flooding is expected. Street and poor drainage flooding are the
main threats from this event.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
A Flood Advisory means ponding of water in urban or other areas is
occurring or is imminent.
