...THE FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS
REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 PM EDT FOR SOUTHWESTERN NEW CASTLE AND
NORTHERN KENT COUNTIES...

At 503 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the heavy rain causing minor
flooding has ended, but overflowing poor drainage areas will result
in minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain fell.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Dover, Smyrna, Clayton, Cheswold, Woodland Beach, Green Spring, Dover
Speedway, Townsend, Kenton, Little Creek, Leipsic, Chambersville,
Kent Acres and Rodney Village.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
