   flood warning for the following rivers in New Jersey...

  Passaic River At Little Falls affecting Essex and Passaic Counties

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas.
The water may be deeper than you think.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  The Passaic River at Little Falls.
* from this evening to Thursday afternoon...or until the warning is
  cancelled.
* At 9:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 6.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise to
  near 7.1 feet by early tomorrow afternoon. The river will fall below
  flood stage by Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 7.0 feet...Minor flooding begins in Lincoln Park, Wayne
  and Little Falls.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 7.1 feet
  on Oct 10 2005.
