...THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
830 AM EDT FOR SOUTHERN MORRIS...HUNTERDON...MERCER...SOMERSET...
MIDDLESEX...MONMOUTH AND NORTHEASTERN BUCKS COUNTIES...

At 534 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain, with over an inch of rain occurring in an hour in
several locations. This will cause urban and small stream flooding
in the advisory area. Numerous reports of urban flooding have been
received on the Interstate 95 corridor.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Trenton, New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Long Branch, Morristown,
Somerville, Somerset, Edison, Middletown, Old Bridge, East Brunswick,
Bridgewater, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Marlboro,
Manalapan, Ewing, Carteret and Tinton Falls.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
