Snow has developed in the southern Poconos and is spreading into
northwest New Jersey this morning. Snow rates are beginning to
increase and will reach at least a half inch per hour this
morning. The heaviest snow is expected this afternoon, where
at least inch-per-hour snow rates are possible for several hours.
Unnecessary travel is strongly discouraged.

Snow has increased across the region this morning, with half-
inch-per-hour snow rates occurring in portions of the Lehigh
Valley. This snow is spreading rapidly eastward into the far
western suburbs of Philadelphia and adjacent portions of northern
and central New Jersey. Snow rates will continue to increase
through the morning hours with accumulations on all surfaces
likely as temperatures cool. The heaviest snow, with at least
one-inch-per-hour snow rates, is expected this afternoon.
Unnecessary travel is strongly discouraged.

afternoon...
A wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain, and rain will transition to
snow through the morning hours, becoming moderate to heavy at
times by late this morning and this afternoon. Temperatures will
slowly fall below freezing through the morning hours, and
accumulations will begin on all surfaces as the snow rates
increase. At least half-inch to inch per hour snow rates are
expected late this morning and especially this afternoon.
Unnecessary travel is strongly discouraged.
