...Major Coastal Storm to Affect the Region Through Wednesday
Night...

.A pair of low pressure systems to our south today will consolidate
into an intense nor'easter just east of the mid-Atlantic coast on
Wednesday, then pass southeast of Nantucket Island late Wednesday
night. Unnecessary travel in most of New Jersey and eastern
Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon and evening is strongly
discouraged!

...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 7 to 10
  inches, with localized amounts up to 14 inches, are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...Until 11 PM EDT Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on very difficult travel conditions,
  especially Wednesday afternoon and evening including the evening
  commute on Wednesday. Snowfall rates of of 1 to 3 inches per
  hour are expected at times Wednesday afternoon and early evening
  when visibility should be reduced to less than half a mile.
  Highest accumulations will be in the hilly areas. In the
  meantime...the snow, and possible sleet or freezing rain mixture
  this evening may quit for a time or become very light, before
  developing in earnest early Wednesday morning. Blowing and
  drifting snow is possible on Thursday.

  expected.

* WHERE...Sussex, Warren and Morris counties.

* WHEN...From 6 AM Wednesday to 2 AM EDT Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to
  impossible, including during the evening commute on Wednesday.
  Be prepared for 1 to 3 inch per hour snowfall accumulation
  Wednesday afternoon and evening with visibility reduced to less
  than half a mile. Highest accumulations will be in the hilly
  areas. In the meantime, any snow that falls this evening should

  accumulations of 11 to 15 inches, with localized amounts up to
  17 inches, and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch
  are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwestern New Jersey, southeast
  Pennsylvania, northeast Maryland and northern Delaware.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to
  impossible, including during the evening commute on Wednesday.
  Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times
  with snowfall rates of an inch an hour possible from late
  Wednesday morning through the afternoon and possibly into the
  evening. Highest accumulations will be in the hilly areas. There
  is some uncertainty as to the maximum snow and sleet amounts
  which may run closer to a foot in this Interstate 95 corridor.
  Widespread power outages are expected during Wednesday afternoon
  from combined glaze and heavy wet snow loads. Thundersnow is
  possible late Wednesday morning and afternoon. Blowing snow is
  possible on Thursday.
