Snow, some of it moderate to heavy, will continue through about 4
or 5 am, depositing widespread amounts of 1 to 4 inches. This is
the first installment of todays major wet snow storm. Near the
coast, warmer temperatures were assisting melting the snow on
pavement or changing the snow to rain. Precipitation should
lighten up for a couple of hours around dawn. Be alert for
slippery slushy stretches both on roads, sidewalks and steps.

Then soon after sunrise, the main storm begins, with heavier
precipitation developing steadily northward. Snowfall rates of 2
inches an hour are expected at times from late this morning
through much of the afternoon across eastern Pennsylvania and the
western and northern parts of New Jersey.

Heavy snow is also possible to develop down into Cecil County of
northeast Maryland and the northern part of New Castle County
Delaware including Wilmington, especially this afternoon.

This will become a dangerous wet snow storm for eastern
Pennsylvania and much of northern and western New Jersey.
