EST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 10

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH
LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT...
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3
inches, with localized amounts up to 7 inches, are possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and southern New Jersey, northeast
Maryland and northern Delaware.
* WHEN...From this evening through late Wednesday night.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is still some uncertainty as to
where the rain/snow line will set up Wednesday afternoon, and as
a result, the Winter Storm Watch remains in effect and has not
yet been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning. This does not mean
there will not be impacts from the storm. Plan on difficult
travel conditions, including during the evening commute on
Wednesday. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
Snow should begin tonight with slushy accumulations by dawn
Wednesday. There should be a period where snow mixes with sleet
and rain, and may even change to plain rain in some locations on
Wednesday. However, precipitation will turn back to snow before
ending. In the heaviest of the snow, snowfall rates will
approach 1 inch per hour, and will be a heavy, wet snow. Its is
possible for trees and power lines to be brought down by the
weight of the accumulating snow, especially for areas where up
to 6 inches fall. Wind gusts to 45 MPH will be possible in parts
of northeastern New Jersey.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue
to monitor the latest forecasts.
