451 PM EST Sun Mar 4 2018
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern Delaware, northeast
Maryland, northern New Jersey, northwest New Jersey, southern New
Jersey, east central Pennsylvania, northeast Pennsylvania and
southeast Pennsylvania.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
A coastal storm will affect our weather late Tuesday night into
Wednesday evening. There is still uncertainty regarding the track
evolution of this storm.
Heavy precipitation is possible at times Wednesday, especially in New
Jersey. While there is always uncertainty due to track and
temperatures, odds are favoring mostly snow for this system. How much
sticks at various times of the day is unknown due to near freezing
temperatures.
There is the potential for areas of heavy wet snow, especially in
the hills of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. Plowable slushy
amounts are likely and both commutes are expected to be impacted by
at a minimum of wet roads and occasionally low visibility in snow.
Timing of heaviest precipitation is yet to be confidently determined.
Six inch amounts are 'possible' in some places, especially the
elevations near and north of I-78 across northern new Jersey and east
central and northeast Pennsylvania. If six inch amounts occur, the
risk for further power outages increases due to the weight of the
snow on the branches and wires, and also possibly causing tree
uproots, due to the already wet ground.
While gusty winds are forecast, they should not be quite as strong
as those experienced on Friday.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
