...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST SATURDAY...
* LOCATION...Central and southern Delaware, and adjacent areas
of eastern Maryland.
* WINDS...Northwest 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph. Isolated
gusts to 70 mph are possible through sunset.
* TIMING...The strongest winds are occuring this afternoon. The
potential for damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph will continue
into this evening but it is not expected to occur as frequently
as during the day. The wind is forecast to diminish gradually
overnight.
* IMPACTS...Strong to damaging winds will blow down limbs, trees,
and power lines, especially with a saturated soil. Numerous
power outages can be expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A High Wind Warning means that a hazardous high wind event is
expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph
or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Light-
weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans
should be secured.
