...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM FRIDAY TO 4 AM EST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to
10 inches at higher elevations above 1000 feet and 2 to 4
inches in the valleys are expected.

* WHERE...In New Jersey, Sussex county. In Pennsylvania, Carbon
  and Monroe counties.

* WHEN...Rain will transition to snow initially along the high-
elevation ridges in the southern Poconos and far northwestern
New Jersey between 4 and 8 AM Friday morning and then closer to
midday in the valleys. The snow will be heavy at times during
the day on Friday with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour
possible. The snow is expected to decrease in intensity later in
the evening before eventually ending from west to east
  overnight.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on very difficult travel conditions,
including during both the morning and evening commutes on
Friday. The combination of strong northwest winds gusting to 50
mph and heavy snow could create near-blizzard conditions with
visibilities below one-half mile at times. The heavy, wet nature
of the snow and strong winds will likely cause damage to trees
and power lines that will lead to power outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
