...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Near 100, with temperatures in the lower
90s and dew point readings in the lower 70s.

* TIMING...Into the early evening hours.

* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat related health
issues, especially for the elderly and for those with pre-
  existing health conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This Heat Advisory means that hot humid conditions are continuing
to affect the region. The combination of hot temperatures and
high humidity is resulting in a situation in which heat-related
illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-
conditioned location, stay out of the sun, and check on elderly
relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. If
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to avoid the heat of the
daytime hours. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing, and
drink plenty of water.

To reduce your risk while performing outdoor work, the
occupational safety and health administration recommends
scheduling frequent rest breaks in a shaded or air conditioned
environment. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and
shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency...call 9 1 1.
