The water may be deeper than you think it is.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Passaic River at Pine Brook.
* At 9:00 PM Saturday, the river level was 19.79 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.2 feet
  early on Sunday afternoon before the level begins to fall.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland is
  subject to flooding. Camp Lane Road, River Edge Drive and
  Broadway Lane in Fairfield are flooded. Stewart Place is
  closed.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of
  20.1 feet on May 13, 1998.

* At 8:30 PM Saturday, the river level was 7.02 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 7.4 feet
  overnight, before the level begins to fall.
* Impact...At 7.0 feet, minor flooding begins in Lincoln Park,
  Wayne and Little Falls.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of
  7.3 feet on March 23, 2003.
