...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT EAST CENTRAL SOMERSET AND
NORTHEASTERN MIDDLESEX COUNTIES...

At 1152 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over New Brunswick,
moving east at 35 mph.

Winds up to 50 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerset, Edison, East Brunswick,
Sayreville, Carteret, Middlesex, Bound Brook, Colonia, North
Brunswick Township, Society Hill, Woodbridge, South Plainfield, South
River, Highland Park, Metuchen, Dunellen, Milltown and South Bound
Brook.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
